This sculpture is made from a piece of wood originally destined to be furniture, but whose structural weaknesses prevented that fate; such is life. Instead this piece was reclaimed, the weaknesses reinforced with black epoxy, the shape was refined, it was sanded to a butter-smooth finish, and finished with hardwax oil for a luxiourious feel. This piece sits atop a solid, hand-sanded aluminum plate and is now exactly what it was always intended to be.
